Dragons of Duluth: Minnesota Point Lighthouse

2015
Near the far tip of the world’s longest freshwater sandbar—the narrow spit of land that forms Minnesota Point—beyond the beach houses and parks, on the far side of old growth pines of the Minnesota Point Pine Forest Scientific and Natural Area, stands the ruins of Minnesota’s first lighthouse. Though no gas light shines from the crumbling tower to guide ships into the safe harbor, perhaps light would flare occasionally from the old beacon anyway—if dragons used it as a perch to flame seagulls from the sky.
