Dala cows are not traditional symbols of Sweden; dala horses are the original, commanding most of the attention, though pigs and roosters are next most popular dala animals. But while they are not commonly carved and painted like a dalahäst, milk cows have long had a place on Swedish farms. There is no mistaking a Hereford. What other breed has such a distinctive white face on an otherwise red body? Even with crossbreeds, you can almost always recognize the Hereford heritage by that bold, ghostly face.

This is original colored pencil art. The colored pencil has been treated with fixative to reduce wax bloom, the natural rising of wax to the surface of the pigment. However, if the picture seems to have dulled over time, remove the art from the frame and wipe gently with a dry, lint-free cloth. This will remove the wax build-up.
