Description
While the Dala horse may be the most popular of the Swedish animals carved of wood and painted in the Swedish kurbits style, the Dala rooster—known in Swedish as the Dala Tupp—is also common. Like the Dala horse, it originated in Dalarna, Sweden, hence the name Dala. The sounds people ascribe to animals vary from language to language, and the sound roosters make is no exception. In English, roosters say, “Cocka-doodle-doo,” while in Swedish, they say “Kuckeliki.”
Dimensions: 11 x 14 inches
Art is unmatted and unframed.
This is original colored pencil art. The colored pencil has been treated with fixative to reduce wax bloom, the natural rising of wax to the surface of the pigment. However, if the picture seems to have dulled over time, remove the art from the frame and wipe gently with a dry, lint-free cloth. This will remove the wax build-up.
