In 2014 I created my first reflection drawing (and apparently failed to learn how difficult it is to mirror anything). The horse is one of my best-selling pieces, and a favorite, with a strawberry roan appaloosa on top, and a red dala horse in its reflection.
Then in 2017 I decided to do a rooster reflection; I really enjoy drawing birds (capturing the texture of the feathers is actually really fun), and I wanted to do a realistic rooster for a change, as well as the dala rooster. It’s amazing how many colors a mixed-breed banty rooster can sport in his feathers.
And now finally (at the prodding of a friend who helped me at the Scandinavian Festival in Proctor), I have completed the set! A red pig to match the red horse and red rooster. Durocs are a popular breed of red pig, so I returned to them (having featured a Duroc in my very first dala drawing).
