It happened at the Høstfest . . .

It seems like I’ll be telling stories about the Høstfest forever (maybe I’ll finally even put my photos together into a post about it). While I was there, I met a lot of wonderful people, including a couple who were drawn to the dala animal reflection pictures. I generally try to stick to the more traditional animals for those drawings–horse, pig, rooster. But that’s not to say I can’t be open-minded or persuaded into a different direction. In this case, the different direction came a little over a month after Høstfest, when the gentleman contacted me about a commission as a Christmas gift for his wife. They’d loved the reflection pictures, and they have two beloved cats–how about do a dala reflection of them?

Pet Portrait AND Dala Reflection

So I got the fun of doing a pet portrait combined with the dala animal reflection. Here are my two feline subjects – a lovely short-haired calico with four white stockings and a silvery Siamese-cross with some wild stripes.

And here is how they turned out! My first ever Dala Cats. I don’t always remember, but this time I did make sure to take progression photos, which I have here in the video slideshow and laid out in a gallery. Definitely a fun commission!
